Hyundai Motor has teased a new dream car concept, “INSTEROID”, a sporty and gaming-inspired EV concept based on the INSTER. It combines a bold styling with video game-inspired elements, showcasing large 21-inch wheels, a rear spoiler, and signature Pixel LEDs.

• Hyundai introduced the Insteroid concept at the ‘Night Garage Party’ in Seoul. This gaming-inspired electric vehicle is based on the Inster model and boasts a wide body kit, big spoiler, track wheels, and a stripped interior with bucket seats and a futuristic instrument cluster. (April 2025) 
• The Insteroid was shown at the Seoul Mobility Show from April 3 to 13, 2025, allowing the public to experience its distinct design and functions.  (April 2025) 
• Hyundai launched an in-house video game featuring the Insteroid, which is accessible via a web browser. In this game, players collect “steroid” power-ups to change the Inster into the Insteroid. (April 2025)

It boasts sporty features such as wheel arch air vents, a large rear spoiler, Sparco racing seats, a Hyundai Beat house sound system, and futuristic 21-inch wheels, all inspired by racing video games.

INSTEROID, a one-of-a-kind concept car, shows Hyundai Motor’s design team’s unique vision. It is a spectacular ‘glitch’ in the automotive matrix, perfectly fusing the boundary-pushing aesthetics of video games with real-world engineering to create a vehicle that seems to have mutated directly out of a digital speedway. The launch is just around the corner. 

The Hyundai Insteiod features massive 21-inch orange wheels with slick tires, a wide rear track, it also comes with a rear spoiler that is nearly as long as the car itself. A Functional hood scoop and exposed underbody components, an aerodynamic ducting and active cooling vents, pixelated LED lighting elements with” INID” badging, a dog-leg style gear shifter that is especially built for drifting, and an Alcantara steering wheel with “Race”, “Track”, and “Boost” buttons. 

Another interesting feature is the Sparco racing seats with harnesses and a built-in roll cage, racing-inspired pedals, and fabric pull-tab door openers. The Hyundai never compromises on the sound systems – this Ev also comes with the Hyundai Beat House Sound System, featuring external speakers and 5 sound modes. It is also equipped with a digital dashboard with parametric pixel graphics. It also comes with a unique feature, the In-car video game, which allows the users to “catch steroids” and virtually evolve their car.

What motor power does the Hyundai Insteriod come in? 

It’s unclear whether the Insteroid has the same 103-hp electric powertrain as the standard Inster, but Hyundai will most certainly share those facts when the concept is unveiled early next month.
