Hero’s new VX2 scooter gets up to 142km range, connected features, and flexible pricing with battery subscription plans.

The Vida VX2, Hero MotoCorp’s newest electric scooter series, has debuted in India. The battery-as-a-service (BaaS) model starts at ₹59,490 (ex-showroom). This entry-level offering aims to make electric mobility more accessible and affordable for daily commuters.

Price & Variants

The Vida VX2 comes in two variations: VX2 Go and VX2 Plus. The BaaS subscription plan offers the VX2 Go starting at ₹59,490 and the VX2 Plus at ₹64,990. The VX2 Go and VX2 Plus have an ex-showroom price of ₹99,490 and ₹1.10 lakh, respectively. Hero claims that the BaaS subscription is intended to lower the initial cost by allowing users to pay for battery use depending on their daily riding needs. The brand claims a low running cost of ₹0.96 per km.

Battery, Range & Charging

The VX2 Go has a 2.2kWh removable battery pack with an IDC-claimed range of 92 km, whilst the VX2 Plus has two 3.4kWh battery packs that offer up to 142 km on a single charge. The hero claims that the battery can be charged from 0 to 80% in one hour using a fast charger. The conventional charger included with the scooter takes approximately six hours to reach the same level.

Features & Connectivity

One of the Vida VX2’s distinctive features is its connected technology. The scooter has cloud connectivity and remote immobilization, a segment-first invention for added security. It also has turn-by-turn navigation, real ride data, and smartphone integration.

The VX2 Plus boasts a 4.3-inch TFT display, while the VX2 Go gets a 4.3-inch LCD screen. Other features include Over-the-Air (OTA) upgrades and rider telemetry support. The VX2 boasts a sleek, urban look and will be available in seven colours. Hero has also prioritised practicality; the VX2 Go variant gets a 33.2-litre underseat storage space that can house a full-face helmet, which increases its daily usability.

Hero MotoCorp’s Vida VX2 is aimed at urban consumers who want a functional, tech-loaded, and affordable EV option. The BaaS model’s flexible pricing and extensive feature set make it a desirable choice in the rapidly growing electric scooter market.
